Transforming

Local government that works for people,
powered by place and built for the future
Transforming Worcestershire
Transforming Worcestershire
Major changes are planned to councils across Worcestershire as part of the biggest shake-up of local government in more than 50 years.
The Government is requiring 21 areas of England to restructure their system of local government by 1 April 2028.

On this site you will find information about Transforming Worcestershire, the radical blueprint for change put forward by councils in Bromsgrove, Malvern Hills, Redditch, Worcester and Wychavon. You will also find a link to the alternative proposal for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) in Worcestershire and how you can have your say.

Transforming Worcestershire is the only option for reorganisation in Worcestershire shaped by feedback from residents and other stakeholders throughout the process.

It combines locally delivered services with shared delivery where this provides consistency, value for money and better outcomes.

Doing things differently is at the heart of the proposal to drive genuine transformation, stronger leadership and financial sustainability.

Our proposal will deliver lasting change across communities so all of Worcestershire thrives into the future.
